Nancy Shirley Baber McNeill

Nancy Shirley Baber McNeill, great-granddaughter of Mary Helen Hanks Baber and the elder Adin Baber was born September 26, 1926 in Charleston, Coles Co. Illinois.  She first married John Konrad Kern on October 17, 1948 at the Presbyterian Church, Kansas, Illinois, he the son of  Reverend Jesse Harvey Kern and Opha Mary Hightower. 

Nancy attended schools at Miami, Florida and Kansas, Illinois, MacMurray College for Women,
Washington University, A.B., 1948;Gasthoererin, Gutenburg Univ., Mainz-am-Rhein, Germany, 1963.  Nancy had the following children:  John Michael Kern, Geoffrey Kern, and William Baber Kern.

She married Charles "Chuck" Alfred McNeill, Jr. on October 8, 1966 at the Carpinteria, California Community Church.  He was born May 8, 1920, son of Charles Alfred McNeill, Sr. and Anna Bartlett
Kessler.  Chuck owned and operated Orchard Services in Carpinteria 1964-1990.

Nancy is currently working on the updating and re-publishing of her father's books about the Hanks Family.
